A new teddy bear has born. I carried the idea of him a couple of years with me. Actually this idea was about the construction – how to make the ears and paws. The rest was improvised as I went and followed my intuition.
So far I have made two examples of this teddy bear and my technical skills are slowly improving. Will need to work a bit more before publishing the pattern.
So, here he is – Valdur the wise bear.
Besides Waldorf dolls there`s one more thing I admire so much. It`s the sock animals. They`re so damn cute!!! I´ve tried making some myself and I must say I totally loved it. You can check my sock toys here.
It has been quiet lately here in my blog, you probably have noticed it. However, that isn`t because of a creative crises or anything like that :) I am working hard on a new book which will be released in the autumn here in Estonia.
The book will contain something old as well as something new. Patterns that have already been published, some new patterns of toys made earlier which have never become patterns and then of course brand new designs. I want to keep them in secret at the moment.
Today I want to show you some photos of Doris, she is the part of the new book too. Well, is she photogenic! (not sure if people use that word, I mean she looks gorgeous on photos). Perhaps it sounds weird to you, but not all the toys are equally good for photographing. I felt this wonderful “click” with Doris today and instead of one picture made plenty of them to share with all of you.
Lately I haven`t been posting much in my blog or Facebook page. The good news is I have discovered Instagram!!! If you feel curious of what I have been working on lately, then please visit me here: lilleliis_official.
The pattern of “Doris the old-fashioned teddy bear” is available in the shop.
The second day of the charity crochet event is happily over. We did it!!! We ended up with 15 teddy bears cutest on earth. So different and at the same time so a like. There were thinner and bigger ones, taller and smaller ones. But I´ll let the photos speak for themselves.
It was an incredible feeling to be there, to feel the power of the selfless and joint action. I can`t tell you how much I admire the ladies who gave their time, patience and skills for this event to succeed.
I wish the Teddy Bears good luck. I hope they meet kids and families that need them the most and spread a lot of love around them :)
Today was the first day of our big charity crochet event. I was honored to create an amigurumi toy of the mascot teddy bear for the Estonian Children`s Foundation. We brought together 15 amigurumi enthusiasts to make these teddies as Christmas gifts for children who suffer from a serious disease. We will continue tomorrow and do our best to finish all the teddy bears started.
Will keep you posted :)
