French knot eyes for crochet toys – video tutorial

In this short video tutorial, I will show you how to embroider French knot eyes on crochet toys. In the sample, I am working them on my Crochet Bear applique, but I´ve used the same technique on other designs too – for example, the Colorful Fish.

French knots create simple little dots similar to smaller safety eyes.

Here`s a few things to keep in mind:

• Using thinner yarn results in smaller knots, while thicker yarn makes them larger.
• You can adjust the size of the dots by changing how many times you wrap the yarn around the needle.
• When working French knots directly onto the crochet surface, make sure to embroider them on top of the stitches—not between them—otherwise, they may sink in and disappear.
