I`m designing a new amigurumi doll and thought perhaps it`s interesting for you to take a closer look at the designing process.
I´ve had this idea and a couple of drawings of the new doll since when I was writing my last book Lovable Amigurumi Toys dedicated to dolls. I really liked how the legs for Ragdoll Annie turned out, so I wanted to use and develop the same idea. I wanted to make the legs bend. Creating a totally different concept of the body is so exciting but also challenging. You´ll never know if it`s a success or a total failure.

I wanted my doll to wear a long and simple dress. I haven`t been ordering any yarn lately, so I just picked what I had at home. The skin is made with mercerized cotton (Drops Muskat) which has a nice delicate shine. I like to combine it with matt textured Drops Cotton Light for the clothes.
What I really love is the yarn for the hair. It`s Drops Alpaca Boucle. I´ve never used it before. It gives almost an angelic look to the doll. The yarn has those cute loops! It consists of alpaca, wool and only 5% of polyamide so it feels super soft and natural.
As you can see I turned my doll into a princess. It was time to make another princess I think, interestingly a very different one from Princess Silver-shoe.

I really love it! I’m working on a very large monkey for a special order, and (Honestly because of the sheer size of him) had decided to do bendable legs too! I’m working on them now. I look forward to ordering your new doll pattern. It’s truly beautiful!

I want to write a pattern, but unfortunately it won`t happen that fast. I need to make a couple of more dolls before I write a pattern of it. Meantime, you`ll find many cute doll patterns here.
