Crochet bear motif – new pattern

It feels incredible to release a new pattern after such a long break!!! Please welcome new crochet bear motif!

Although the story behind it kind of hurts…

The thing is, lately I´ve been suffering with back pain. I´m still not sure why it started or how long it will go on, but it forces me to take it a bit slower and crochet less.

So instead of hurting my body with crochet, I decided to complete a pattern started in the summer. A cute little crochet bear motif that has tons of creative ways of usage.

STORY BEHIND IT

The first bear motif was made many years ago for my child`s school cardigan which had a nasty hole at the elbow part. The woolen bear applique covered it nicely and helped the cardigan last until the end of the school year :)

In the summer 2023 I started making a first birthday gift for my nephew August. I decided to pick up the idea of the bear motif and develop the face a bit more to create a cute garland with his name, and sweet and friendly bears hanging on it. So the final bear motif was born.

USE CROCHET BEAR MOTIF AS…

• an applique on children`s clothing, a simple monocolored sweater or a T-shirt
• a cute patch on a pocket or a hat
• an element on an activity blanket for a baby
• an element on a garland to decorate baby`s room

SOME GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS PATTERN

You`ll only need about 3 grams of the main color for every bear. This makes it a nice yarn stash exterminator. Using only leftover yarn you can create beautiful garlands and gift or sell them away.

The pattern is in easy+ skill level which means most of the beginners can manage it as well. The basic stitches we`re using are single crochet and double crochet. Sewing the tiny parts on the face require a bit patience.
